Some people don't get it --- Saturday, June 23, 2001
Merchant 911 has notified the folks at SMART RecoveryŽ on two occasions that they are collecting credit card numbers and card holder information on an insecure site. We suggested to them that they are probably in violation of their agreement with the card companies and are most certainly exposing both card holders and merchants to fraud.
After the first notification, 911 was informed that they do not, in fact, collect this information. We pointed out to them that they have a form collecting all card holder information. We were informed that it would be fixed. Several weeks later, we notified them again and got no response. Over a week has passed and the page is still there.
Merchant 911 recommends that no one fill out the form on this site.
