E-Learning course released --- Thursday, May 19, 2005

Merchant 911 Director, Tom Mahoney announced the release of the first ever E-Learning course to teach on-line merchants how to avoid fraudulent transactions and the resulting chargebacks.

Preventing E-Commerce Chargebacks is a web based interactive course developed by Mahoney and two other experts in the field of Internet Law and White Collar Crime.

The course covers all of the critical aspects of this growing threat, including:

  • Who the "Card-Not-Present "players" are, what they do...and what they don’t do
  • What the credit card companies don’t tell E-merchants
  • The tell-tale signs of fraudulent transactions
  • Where on-line orders really come from
  • Step-by-step methods to verify suspicious Internet orders manually
  • How to put legal “teeth” in an E-commerce web site’s Terms Of Service
  • Information and services needed to combat fraudulent transactions
  • What to do if you do become a victim

"I took the collective experiences of our 2700 members who have been in the trenches and know the REAL issues of credit card fraud, and developed the course content around that," said Mahoney. "The real world isn't what the regulations say it should be, and this course will level the playing field."
