WV House member Ron Thompson kills bill --- Saturday, April 3, 2004

West Virginia Senate Bill 34 died in the House Banking Committee when Committee chairman Ron Thompson (D) from Beckly, WV did not put it before the comittee. It was Ron Thompson's duty as an elected official to present it to the comittee for voting.

The current plan is go to a study resolution to prepare a bill for next session. Merchant 911 lobbyist Gary Howell has requested that Member Mark Ishman, an Attorney, be part of that study resolution. The bill needs to be more comprehensive and tougher and we would like your involvement. The goal is to make sure the criminals are prosecuted, and merchants and consumers are not left holding the bag.
