One of our Merchant911 members filed a fraud report that once again shows us that banks just don’t have a clue about fraud prevention. We’re not talking about a little bank here, folks. We’re talking about Washington Mutual - WaMu - one of the largest credit card issuers in the country.

Merchants need to know that they are PCI/DSS compliant even though they have no control over it.

Hannaford Bros. confirmed yesterday that the source of the data breach that compromised 4.5 million credit and debit cards was Malware - malicious code secretly installed on their servers. And yet they were PCI compliant.
