New Visa credit card processing fees

gm2p002a.jpgspacer.gifI just came across an article at the 3D Merchant Services that announces several new Visa fees that went into effect in April and July. They have the delightful names of Acquires Processing Fee, Zero Floor Limit Fee, Misuse of Authorization Fee, and International Service Assessment Fee.

In a nutshell…

Visa Acquires Processing Fee: A fee of $0.0195 on authorizations acquired in the US no matter where the card was issued.

Visa Zero Floor Limit Fee: A whopping $0.10 on any transaction submitted that can’t be matched to a previous approved or partly approved authorization.

Visa Misuse of Authorization Fee: $0.045 to authorizations that are not followed by a matching clearing transaction.

International Service Assessment Fee: 0.40% on all (non US card) transactions processed by a US merchant.

The first and last went into effect on MasterCard transactions earlier. These fees, of course, are fees charged to the processors but they will be passed on to the merchants.

Has anyone seen these yet? Comments appreciated. Click below.
